Population: 33,800,000
Its history begins in 1457, but it was completely rebuilt after
the Second World War.
Tokyo is a gorgeous city, that is very cultural and welcoming.
The scenery is amazing, and I know that I've always wanted
to go and check out this amazing place. Tokyo is a world
commanding 'finance center' and is miles ahead
with technology, so there will be plenty to see. The locals are
welcoming, and the whole place is like a paradise, at least
that's what I've heard from my friends
who've been there last summer!

2. Mexico City
[Mexico City]
Country: Mexico
Population: 22,900,000
Mexico gained independence in 1821, and since then Mexico City
has been growing and expanding throughout the centuries.
Mexico City is the capital of Mexico, but it has been influenced
by many cultures. The buildings have a Paris look to them, and
the floating gardens are certainly a landmark that everybody
should see. The city has 160 museums, over 100 art galleries and
a constant cultural activity that means everyone should visit
it!

Population: 18,042,000
While the city has existed since 250BC, its history is plagued
with riots and lobbies. The current Mumbai became established in
1950, but riots in 1992 and the bombing of the underground have
meant that a lot of buildings have been rebuilt, and Mumbai has
a new look once again.
With a huge cultural influence, a mix of spicy yet rich foods
and several big landmarks, Mumbai is a brilliant place to go
sight seeing. From the famous Chowpatty beach to the Elephant
Caves, there is something for everybody, and I know that I will
definitely be visiting in the future. For the ultimate Mumbai
experience, try and time your trip to include one of the popular
festivals.

[Sao Paulo]
Country: Brazil
Population: 17, 711, 00
Sao Paulo officially became a city in 1711, and has flourished
since then. However, since the twentieth century, it has been
under pressure to out perform Brazils other major city, Rio De
Janeiro. This has lead to an increase in policing, and a tidy up
of the city.
Sao Paula is another very cultural place, and it also hosts many
big events. These include the Sao Paulo fashion week, which is
attended by huge fashion names such as Gucci, and the March for
Jesus. There are also more controversial events, such as the gay
march. The temperatures are high, and there is a site here for
everyone, from the famous Museum of Art to the Interlagos grand
prix track. I find the culture here fascinating, and the locals
are really welcoming too, offering tasters of local food and
showing tourists the way of life there.

Paulo] 5. New York City

Country: USA
Population: 16,626,000
It took New York City a long time to become the version we know
and love. Before that, back in 1624 it was called New Amsterdam
and it had been inhabited by Native Americans. Later on it was
owned by the British who then changed it's name to New
York. But it became America's largest city in 1790 and
held that position ever since!
New York City is the cultural center of America, buzzing with
films, art and music. 47 million tourists visit each year, to
see Broadway, Central Park, the Bronx zoo and all of the other
amazing attractions on offer. The food there is diverse, with
bagels, kebabs, cheesecakes and pizza's being the most
common choices. The New York City Hall is worth a viewing, and
many of the Universities are housed in very old, gorgeous
buildings. I'd definitely recommend visiting this
brilliant city!

[Shanghai]

Population: 14,173,000
Shanghai didn't start its reforms until 1991, and these
are still going on today. Before this, Shanghai had a mixed
history, including a period of heavy communism.
Shanghai is the cultural leader of East Asia, and hosted the
first motor car, sewer and train track. These days, Shanghai has
a more advanced transport system then most of Europe, and the
mix of picturesque villages and 20th Century architecture means
that Shanghai is one of the most gorgeous cities in the World.
I'd recommend taking as much camera film as you can
carry, and make sure you travel round to enjoy the different
sites each area has to offer!

7. Lagos
[Lagos]
Country: Nigeria
Population: 13,488,000
Lagos has a mixed history, which begins in 1742, and travels
through British ownership and several wars to establish itself
as a large, functioning city today.
The biggest city in West Africa, Lagos has sights that more
modern cities just can't contend with. Lagos also homes
the "Nollywood" of Africa, so called because it is
the center of the African film industry, and has two football
stadiums. There are several sandy beaches, and a fast paced way
of life, but Lagos is still a quiet holiday destination, getting
most of its tourism via business.

[Los Angeles]
Country: USA
Population: 13,129,000
Los Angeles reformed into the city we know now in the
1920's, although it was plagued with crime and gang
warfare up until 1994.
Los Angeles has so many landmarks, you'd be crazy not to
visit it. These include the Hollywood sign, the Walt Disney
concert hall, Graumans Chinese theatre, the Griffith
Observatory, Hollywood Bowl, the Kodak Theatre, Capitol Records
and the Los Angeles memorial coliseum. Los Angeles has a great
nightlife, and some brilliant shopping areas, so it'll be
a brilliant holiday for everyone!

[Calcutta]
Country: India
Population: 12,900,000
In 1960, Calcutta had two main areas. One was British owned,
named the White Town, and one Indian, named the Black town. Since
then it has survived striking, bombing in WW2 and the name
change to KolKata, and is currently experiencing major reforms.
Kolkata has a massive literary, artistic and revolutionary
heritage, and is the former capital of India. Its buildings are
heavily influenced by Gothic, Baroque, Roman, Oriental and
Indo-Islamic revolutions, leaving the town looking beautifully
mismatched, and now that it has a working public transport and a
reformed tourist base, it is a better time than ever to visit.
The locals are welcoming, and there is a perfect mix between
Indian and Western culture. I can't wait to visit this
newly reformed city myself.
[Calcutta] 10. Buenos Aires
[Buenos Aires]
Country: Argentina
Population: 12,413,000
The city was reformed after the Falkland Wars, but is constantly
evolving.
If you haven't visited Argentina, definitely go now. The
culture is amazing, and the sights simply breathtaking. Famous
for the tango, make sure you check out a dance establishment,
and look at all of the architecture too. It's a mix of
Madrid, Paris and Barcelona, and is truly unique. This has to be
one of my favourite cities.

I think it is right when tobacco advertising is banned
and smoking allowed only in designated places.
Many children start smoking at a very early age, unaware
of the harm they cause themselves and some, for their
careless parents' joy, are posing with a cigarette in
their mouth (and sometimes with a beer in their hands).

gives you a little insight in the philosophy behind the brand.
First of all, the yellow swoosh looks like a smile: Amazon.com

connects the letters a and z, meaning that this store has

Kamikochi is one of the most beautiful places in Japan;
a haven of unspoilt nature.
The ice blue glacial waters of Azusagawa river gush through
the valley and the alps soar above you as you wander through
forests
before taking your obligatory photo on Kappabashi Bridge.
Kamikochi lies in the Azusa-gawa valley at the end of the road,
surrounded on all sides by the high mountains of the northern
Japan Alps.
There are walks of all grades and lengths possible using
Kamikochi
as a base, with the easiest keeping to the river valley and more
strenuous options leading up to the summits of nearby peaks.
Decent footwear is a must as there are patches of
year-round snow and the going can be rough.
Walking and trekking:
Kamikochi is a perfect place to stretch your legs with easy
walks
along the river and hot springs at your hotel. It also plays
host
to the most exhilarating mountain treks in the country. However,
there are also a couple of good day walks that hikers and
ramblers
alike will enjoy.
When to visit:
For the above reasons, Kamikochi is extremely popular with
Japanese
domestic tourists and local walkers. On summer weekends
it can be very crowded and it's best to get there early, or
to stay over the night before.

Boxer Muhammad Ali's advice to his daughter
The following incident took place when Muhammad Ali's daughters
arrived at his home wearing clothes that were not modest. Here
is the story as told by one of his daughters:
When we finally arrived, the chauffeur escorted my younger
sister, Laila, and me up to my father's suite. As usual, he was
hiding behind the door waiting to scare us. We exchanged many
hugs and kisses as we could possibly give in one day.
My father took a good look at us. Then he sat me down on his lap
and said something that I will never forget. He looked me
straight in the eyes and said, "Hana, everything that God made
valuable in the world is covered and hard to get to. Where do
you find diamonds? Deep down in the ground, covered and
protected. Where do you find pearls? Deep down at the bottom of
the ocean, covered up and protected in a beautiful shell. Where
do you find gold? Way down in the mine, covered over with layers
and layers of rock.
You've got to work hard to get to them."
He looked at me with serious eyes. "Your body is sacred. You're
far more precious than diamonds and pearls, and you should be
covered too."

Red ones mean passion and romance, yellow ones speak of
friendship, and pink can express your thanks.
If you're feeling a little confused - or you want to keep a lady
guessing - you could try sending these roses instead.
The multi-coloured flowers, known as rainbow roses or happy
roses, are the latest thing in quirky gifts.
Bloomin' marvellous: Rainbow roses are non-artificial flowers
also known as the happy rose. It uses a groundbreaking process
where vibrant coloured plant extracts are injected into the stem
They start life as cream roses, but the heads take on hues from
various food dyes placed in their water one at a time and sucked
up the stems.
We know the process takes between 12 and 24 hours, but not how
the different petals turn out different colours.
That remains a trade secret of their creator, Dutch florist
Peter van de Werken, who branched out from creating brightly
coloured chrysanthemums.

Staffordshire holds a bunch of rainbow roses - the flowers start
off cream and are dyed
Pick of the bunch: The rainbow rose is available in Britain for
the first time. It was created when Dutch rose growers River
Flowers and F.J. Zandbergen & Zn joined forces
He buys long-stemmed Vendela roses, dyes them and distributes
them around the world. They still have their sweet smell and the
flowers will last as long as normal roses, but the leaves may
wither sooner.
More than a million were sold in a year, with key markets in
Japan, Italy and particularly Sweden, where blue and yellow
varieties mimic the national flag. Britons can buy them at
online florist Interrose.co. uk.
However, they do not come cheap. One stem costs £24.49 and a
dozen £64.87, more than double the price of 12 red roses.

25. U.S. Post Office
They are pricing themselves out of existence. With e-mail, and
and on-line services they are a relic of the past.. (refer to #9)
24. Yellow Pages
This year will be pivotal for the global Yellow Pages industry.
Much like newspapers, print Yellow Pages will continue to bleed
dollars to their various digital counterparts, from Internet
Yellow Pages (IYPs), to local search engines and combination
search/listing services like Reach Local and Yodel Factors like20an
acceleration of the print 'fade rate' and the looming recession
will contribute to the onslaught. One research firm predicts the
falloff in usage of newspapers and print Yellow Pages could even
reach 10% this year -- much higher than the 2%-3% fade rate seen
in past years.
23. Classified Ads
The Internet has made so many things obsolete that newspaper
classified ads might sound like just another trivial item on a
long list. But this is one of those harbingers of the future that
could signal the end of civilization as we know it. The argument
is that if newspaper classifies are replaced by free on-line
listings at sites like Craigslist.org and Google Base, then
newspapers are not far behind them..
22. Movie Rental Stores
While Netflix is looking up at the moment, Blockbuster keeps
closing store locations by the hundreds. It still has about 6,000
left across the world, but those keep dwindling and the stock is
down considerably in 2008, especially since the company gave up a
quest of Circuit City . Movie Gallery, which owned the Hollywood
Video brand, closed up shop earlier this year. Countless small
video chains and mom-and-pop stores have given up the ghost
already.
21. Dial-up Internet Access
Dial-up connections have fallen from 40% in 2001 to 10% in 2008.
The combination of an infrastructure to accommodate affordable
high speed Internet connections and the disappearing home phone
have all but pounded the final nail in the coffin of dial-up
Internet access.
20. Phone Land Lines
According to a survey from the National Center for Health
Statistics, at the end of 2007, nearly one in six homes was
cell-only and, of those homes that had land lines, one in eight
only received calls on their cells.
19. Chesapeake Bay Blue Crabs
Maryland 's icon, the blue crab, has been fading away in Chesapeake
Bay . Last year Maryland saw the lowest harvest (22 million pounds)
since 1945. Just four decades ago the bay produced 96 million
pounds. The population is down 70% since 1990, when they first did
a formal count. There are only about 120 million crabs in the bay
and they think they need 200 million for a sustainable population.
Over-fishing, pollution, invasive species and global warming get
the blame.
18. VCRs
For the better part of three decades, the VCR was a best-seller
and staple in every American household until being completely
decimated by the DVD, and now the Digital Video Recorder (DVR). In
fact, the only remnants of the VHS age at your local Wal-Mart or
Radio Shack are blank VHS tapes these days. Pre-recorded VHS tapes
are largely gone and VHS decks are practically nowhere to be
found. They served us so well.
17. Ash Trees
In the late 1990's, a pretty, iridescent green species of beetle,
now known as the emerald ash borer, hitched a ride to North
America with ash wood products imported from eastern Asia . In less
than a decade, its larvae have killed millions of trees in the
Midwest , and continue to spread. They've killed more than 30
million ash trees in southeastern Michigan alone, with tens of
millions more lost in Ohio and Indiana . More than 7.5 billion ash
trees are currently at risk.
16. Ham Radio
Amateur radio operators enjoy personal (and often worldwide)
wireless communications with each other and are able to support
their communities with emergency and disaster communications if
necessary, while increasing their personal knowledge of
electronics and radio theory.. However, proliferation of the
Internet and its popularity among youth has caused the decline of
amateur radio. In the past five years alone, the number of people
holding active ham radio licenses has dropped by 50,000, even
though Morse Code is no longer a requirement..
15. The Swimming Hole
Thanks to our litigious society, swimming holes are becoming a
thing of the past. '20/20' reports that swimming hole owners, like
Robert Every in High Falls, NY, are shutting them down out of
worry that if someone gets hurt they'll sue. And that's exactly
what happened in Seattle . The city of Bellingham was sued by Katie
Hofstetter who was paralyzed in a fall at a popular swimming hole
in Whatcom Falls Park . As injuries occur and lawsuits follow,
expect more swimming holes to post 'Keep out!' signs.
14. Answering Machines
The increasing disappearance of answering machines is directly
tied to No 20 our list -- the decline of landlines. According to
USA Today, the number of homes that only use cell phones jumped
159% between 2004 and 2007. It has been particularly bad in New
York ; since 2000, landline usage has dropped 55%. It's logical
that as cell phones rise, many of them replacing traditional
landlines, that there will be fewer answering machines.
13. Cameras That Use Film
It doesn't require a statistician to prove the rapid disappearance
of the film camera in America . Just look to companies like Nikon,
the professional's choice for quality camera equipment. In 2006,
it announced that it would stop making film cameras, pointing to
the shrinking market -- only 3% of its sales in 2005, compared to
75% of sales from digital cameras and equipment.
12. Incandescent Bulbs
Before a few years ago, the standard 60-watt (or, yikes, 100-watt)
bulb was the mainstay of every U.S. home. With the green movement
and all-things-sustainable-energy crowd, the Compact Fluorescent
Lightbulb (CFL) is largely replacing the older, Edison-era
incandescent bulb. The EPA reports that 2007 sales for Energy Star
CFLs nearly doubled from 2006, and these sales accounted for
approximately 20 percent of the U.S. light bulb market. And
according to USA Today, a new energy bill plans to phase out
incandescent bulbs in the next four to 12 years.
11. Stand-Alone Bowling Alleys
Bowling Balls... US claims there are still 60 million Americans who
bowl at least once a year, but many are not bowling in stand-alone
bowling alleys. Today most new bowling alleys are part of
facilities for all types or recreation including laser tag,
go-karts, bumper cars, video game arcades, climbing walls and glow
miniature golf. Bowling lanes also have been added to many
non-traditional venues such as adult communities, hotels and
resorts, and gambling casinos.
10. The Milkman
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, in 1950, over
half of the milk delivered was to the home in quart bottles, by
1963, it was about a third and by 2001, it represented only 0.4%
percent. Nowadays most milk is sold through supermarkets in gallon
jugs. The steady decline in home-delivered milk is blamed, of
course, on the rise of the supermarket, better home refrigeration
and longer-lasting milk. Although some milkmen still make the
rounds in pockets of the U.S. , they are certainly a dying breed.
9. Hand-Written Letters
In 2006, the Radicati Group estimated that, worldwide, 183 billion
e-mails were sent each day. Two million each second. By November
of 2007, an estimated 3.3 billion Earthlings owned cell phones,
and 80% of the world's population had access to cell phone
coverage. In 2004, half-a-trillion text messages were sent, and
the number has no doubt increased exponentially since then. So
where amongst this gorge of gabble is there room for the elegant,
polite hand-written letter?
8. Wild Horses
It is estimated that 100 years ago, as many as two million horses
were roaming free within the United States . In 2001, National
Geographic News estimated that the wild horse population has
decreased to about 50,000 head. Currently, the National Wild Horse
and Burro Advisory board states that there are 32,000 free roaming
horses in ten Western states, with half of them residing in
Nevada . The Bureau of Land Management is seeking to reduce the
total number of free range horses to 27,000, possibly by selective
euthanasia.
7. Personal Checks
According to an American Bankers Assoc. report, a net 23% of
consumers plan to decrease their use of checks over the next two
years, while a net 14% plan to increase their use of PIN debit.
Bill payment remains the last stronghold of paper-based
payments -- for the time being. Checks continue to be the most
commonly used bill payment method, with 71% of consumers paying at
least one recurring bill per month by writing a check. However,
a bill-by-bill basis, checks account for only 49% of consumers'
recurring bill payments (down from 72% in 2001 and 60% in 2003).
6. Drive-in Theaters
During the peak in 1958, there were more than 4,000 drive-in
theaters in this country, but in 2007 only 405 drive-ins were
still operating. Exactly zero new drive-ins have been built since
2005. Only one reopened in 2005 and five reopened in 2006, so
there isn't much of a movement toward reviving the closed ones.
5. Mumps & Measles
Despite what's been in the news lately, the measles and mumps
actually, truly are disappearing from the United States . In 1964,
212,000 cases of mumps were reported in the U.S. By 1983, this
figure had dropped to 3,000, thanks to a vigorous vaccination
program. Prior to the introduction of the measles vaccine,
approximately half a million cases of measles were reported in the
U.S. annually, resulting in 450 deaths. In 2005, only 66 cases
were recorded.
4. Honey Bees
Perhaps nothing on our list of disappearing America is so dire;
plummeting so enormously; and so necessary to the survival of our
food supply as the honey bee. Very scary. 'Colony Collapse
Disorder,' or CCD, has spread throughout the U.S. and Europe over
the past few years, wiping out 50% to 90% of the colonies of many
beekeepers -- and along with it, their livelihood.
3. News Magazines and TV News
While the TV evening newscasts haven't gone anywhere over the last
several decades, their audiences have. In 1984, in a story about
the diminishing returns of the evening news, the New York Times
reported that all three network evening-news programs combined had
only 40.9 million viewers.. Fast forward to 2008, and what they
have today is half that.
2. Analog TV
According to the Consumer Electronics Association, 85% of homes in
the U.S. get their television programming through cable or
satellite providers. For the remaining 15% -- or 13 million
individuals -- who are using rabbit ears or a large outdoor
antenna to get their local stations, change is in the air.. If you
are one of these people you'll need to get a new TV or a converter
box in order to get the new stations which will only be broadcast
in = 0 A digital.
1. The Family Farm
Since the 1930's, the number of family farms has been declining
rapidly. According to the USDA, 5.3 million farms dotted the
nation in 1950, but this number had declined to 2.1 million by the
2003 farm census (data from the 2007 census hasn't yet been
published). Ninety-one percent of the U.S. FARMS are small Family
Farms.

Now let us move to our business.
So again Rohan has found antique clocks and again they are not showing correct time except clock-1. other clocks either gained or lost time.
Solution to this puzzle, according to me is as under:
Clock-1 correct time 1:05 and always keeps the correct time.
Clock-2 Reads Time 10:41 and looses 2hrs. 24 Min. a day, then the correct clock-1 will catch up the clock-2 when the time gap of 9 hrs.36 min., between the two clocks is lost by clock-2, and it will happen in 9hrs36min/ 2hrs.24min. = 4days.
Clock-3 Reads 3:45 and gains 1hr. 20 min. a day. time gap between clock-1 and clock-3 is 9hr.20min. And clock-3 will catch up clock-1, when it gains this
much time in 7days.
Clock-4 Reads 4:50 and loses 45 min a day.Time gap of 3hrs.45min, between clock-1 and clock-4 will be lost by clock-4 in 3hrs.45min/45min. = 5 days.
LCM of 4, 7, and 5 days is 140 days.
Therefore, in 240 days all four clocks will show the correct and same exact time.

Rohan is spending his summer vacation and has lot of free time at his disposal. During the past winter vacation he had visited his grandpa and had found four antique clocks in a box. His grandpa informed him that long ago he fancied collecting these classic clocks and a friend of him used to fix any problems with them. With that friend being no more around, he didn't even remember if these four clocks worked correctly. Grandpa had allowed Rohan to take them with him to his house and check them out. A few days before the vacation on a weekend, he took the four clocks out and mounted them in a line in his study room and had tested them and found that only one of them kept the correct time and other three either gained or lost
time.
Yesterday he observed the four clocks and noted the following.
Clock 1 – the one that keeps the correct time read 1:05.
Clock 2 – that looses 2 hours and 24 minutes a day read 10:41
Clock 3 – which gains an hour and 20 minutes a day read 3:45
Clock 4 – that loses 45 minutes a day read 4:50
Rohan wondered – that without fixing them and with their current settings; will these four ever read the same exact time. If so, how long before such an even will occur for the first time?
So friends would you be willing to take up this challenge and react to Rohan's question?
